This time, adorable, flying, alien ponies. With neutron pulse cannons to roast you. Space pony is epic pony. That is all. I know it's actually Ki'rin, but I took the apostrophe out because tags with those in them don't work, and if you try to search on dA with an apostrophe, [at least in my experience] it just comes back saying "Massive lame error. Ye search iz boerken."

Anyways I'm loving the winglets on each hoof and just above the main wings, they look really, really cool. Are the leg winglets part of her body, or are they part of some armor she's wearing? I think I might make the hoof winglets slightly more subtle and actually integrate them as part of her body. And the longer legs really DO do her justice, and good job recreating the "high heels" contour shape of her hooves, that is a trademark feature that all Ki'rin have. And you're right, she DOES look extra-squishy too. I wanna give her a hug
Oh, one more question...how is she able to operate that neutron pulse cannon? Telekinesis? Yeah I'm kinda thinking of either not having Ki'rin able to use telekinesis, or giving ALL Ki'rin, not just Ki'rin-Daa the ability to use it...both reasons would be to avoid copyright flack. One final copyright question is: Do you think only the mane and tail should be colorful, with a mare's body being white or pale gray and a stallion's body being darker shades of gray and brown (I always associate the color white with femininity for some reason, I dunno why,) or do you think we could get away with making their bodies brightly-colored too, similar to a MLP pony?
But I'm not worried about that right now, I'm just admiring this sweet piece of art! Yesterday I even started writing a faux-wiki entry on the Ki'rin species, inspired by articles on Halo Nation about different alien races, that may hopefully someday be part of a wiki I plan on writing about Starlight Run. I may publish it on deviantART under "writings" when I'm done. Would you like to read it?
Thanks. The winglets are part of the body. Yeah, I looked a bit at shrinking them, just wasn't sure how I would. Though I kinda like them fluffy. :3 So do they walk like balerinas? Since they got the pointy toe thing? Hoof.... Toe-hoof thingy thing what blah. Really? I took her mane as more Rarity-ish without the curling.
Well, telekinesis is one option. Another idea I had a second or 2 ago is making them electric. Then, to pick things up, they charge their hooves to either create static electricity, or to magnetize them. Then when they mount something on their side/back, just have a few lines running into the weapon systems. And that way, no enemy can steal the gun and just use it like one of his own. Not sure which of those sounds better. Tk is overused, and the other way, that thing would really kill her over time, carrying it on one side or the other. Well I was thinking color the mane and tail. Then have the body be a soft, semi-metalic color, with highlights running through certain areas the same color as the hair, like, for example, on the seam-looking lines on the legs, or the winglet swirls. Depending on what color you want the atmosphere of.... Akasha? [Is that right?] to be, I would say you could probably have their skin be tinted to match, of course, with a bit of variance. But no rainbow colors. That would probably be too much.
Sure. Not any time soon though. I don't read much at all, and of course, you know I have lots to do, especially if I don't want someone beating me to the punch in the race for the ultimate pony game.
